{"id":745,"date":"2021-02-23T16:16:37","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T21:16:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/waltercounsel.com\/?p=745"},"modified":"2021-02-23T16:21:20","modified_gmt":"2021-02-23T21:21:20","slug":"payback-protection-program-rules-revised","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/waltercounsel.com\/?p=745","title":{"rendered":"Paycheck Protection Program Rules Revised"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an attempt to target funding to small businesses, the Biden administration has amended the rules governing the Paycheck Protection Program (&#8220;PPP&#8221;). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/waltercounsel.com\/defiant\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/info.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-602\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/waltercounsel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/info.png 800w, https:\/\/waltercounsel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/info-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/waltercounsel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/info-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/waltercounsel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/info-768x768.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, only businesses with fewer than 20 employees may apply during the period from February 24 to March 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second, effective in early March, the formula used to calculate the amount of the PPP loan has been relaxed, enabling sole proprietors, independent contractors and the self-employed will now qualify for more money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s also been reported that changes will be made to the application process to make loan receipt easier for some non-citizens, people with past non-fraud felony convictions and people who defaulted on student loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This round of the PPP is scheduled to end March 31.
