A Sonnet on AI Bias by Claude AI

Not Claude

The data trails we leave each day
Contain our joys, beliefs, errors of the past.
The systems trained on such display
Biases that within were cast.

Imprints of preconception live on,
As algorithms crunch through unfeeling bits.
Creating models that still drawn
To the prejudices found in it.

They mirror latent flaws back to us,
Mathematizing the biases we’ve made.
Garbage in begets garbage thus,
Poisoned outputs decades delayed.

Though its inner eye impartial they claim,
An AI is only as neutral as its data train.
We must take care, make amends, reset
All the imbalance accrued by biases set.
